Sewing Machine Basics

Get to know your sewing machine and learn some essential basic sewing techniques with like-minded people. A wonderful way to spend your time and relax after a busy day.
When: Beginning on Monday 25 September for eight weeks, 6.30pm to 9pm (2.5 hours).
Format: Over this 8-week course you will construct and embellish your own tote bag, cushion, top and trousers. In the process you will gain the skills and confidence to tackle your own textile designs. Aimed at complete beginners or improvers who want to refresh their memory.
Materials: All materials will be provided for, including the sewing machines. However, you are very welcome to bring your own sewing machine or fabric you would like to use for any of the projects.
Tutor: Your tutor GillyMai O’Brien is a textile creations artist. She was taught sewing by her mother as a child and it became a lifelong passion. GillyMai is highly skilled in many different techniques, such as felting, machine embroidery and the construction of clothing.
Cost: £200 per term
