One-day Printing Workshop

5th October, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Explore two creative printing techniques!

Join us for an immersive full-day art workshop where you’ll dive into two distinct printing techniques: Lino Printing and Tetrapack collagraph. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this hands-on art workshop is designed to inspire and challenge you, all while making new friends and supporting our charity!

We’ll divide into 2 groups and switch over lunch, so everyone has the chance to experience both printing techniques. Group sizes are kept limited to enable an individualised approach.

Art Workshop Schedule:

10:00 AM – 12:30 PM | Morning Session

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM | Lunch Break
Enjoy a break in our lunch area and garden, relaxing and chatting with fellow participants. We’ll provide refreshments (tea, coffee etc) throughout the day, but please bring your own packed lunch. We have crockery and cutlery, and microwaves to heat up your dish. There is a COOP supermarket within walking distance.

1:30 PM – 4:00 PM | Afternoon Session

Workshop overview:

Tetrapack collagraph: Using a simple tetrapack (such as an orange juice carton) you’ll create printing plates by drypoint etching and cutting your designs. You’ll learn how to ink and print these plates, layering and manipulating them in combination with very simple monoprint backgrounds, to produce unique results. This eco-friendly printing technique allows for endless creative possibilities to explore further at home!

Lino printing: Learn the basics of transferring and carving your designs onto lino tiles. You’ll get the chance to experiment with different ways of printing your design, creating a range of prints to take with you. At the end, you’ll have the skills to continue at home with a minimum of equipment.
