Complete beginners watercolour workshop

Introduction to watercolours for complete beginners, demonstrations and individual guidance throughout the day. Materials included. St John’s Church, Hills Road, CB2 8RN. Saturday 21s January. £70
A creative and relaxing comprehensive workshop exploring the basic techniques of pure watercolour. No previous experience necessary, beginners and those wanting to refresh their techniques are welcome. All materials provided and a beginners starter pack of handouts to take home with projects to guide you covering the aspects of materials, tone, layering, washes and opacity covered in the workshop. We start the day with a brief introduction to materials with samples, practice paper and paint guides provided. I will demonstrate washes, layering, and explain transparency and opacity through small projects. There will be the opportunity for you to practice the washes and techniques. You will be able to use them in a finished painting. You are welcome to arrive from 9.45am for tea and coffee. Demonstrations will start at 10am and we finish at 4pm. Please bring your own lunch. I will provide tea, coffee and biscuits . The venue has a large light airy room and a courtyard garden where we can have lunch, it is held in the Wilkinson room at St John’s Church, Hills Road, Cambridge which has free parking at the rear of the Church and is a 15min walk from the railway station.
