Botanical Illustration Evening Class with Vicky Hallam

Rowan evening art courses for all!

Join us at Rowan for a relaxed evening of botanical illustration.

– When: Beginning on Thursday 2 November for four weeks, 6.30pm to 9pm (2.5 hours).
– Format: This four week botanical illustration course will kick off with observational drawing. Starting with leaves we will learn about their structure and how to accurately depict form. We will work in graphite and ink to begin with and move onto colour pencil exploring different shading techniques such as ink stippling, embossing paper to create details and blending colour. On the later two weeks we will look at drawing a flower bringing it to life with colour and tone. This relaxed learning environment is suitable for all levels.
– Materials: Materials will be provided.
– Tutor: Practicing as an Architect has provided Vicky with a meticulous eye for detail and precise way of working which can be seen in her lifelike portrayals of plants and their anatomy. Vicky graduated with a distinction from the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma May 2023 and is now a foundation member.
