Art@One – ‘Monoprint And Monotypes’

8th June @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

A creative and fun workshop for beginners and those with printmaking experience.

With plenty of guidance from artist and printmaker, Sherry Rea, we will explore monoprinting and monotype using a printmaking press. Sherry will also show you how to make some monoprints by hand so that you can continue to use what you have learnt to create monoprints at home.

Monoprinting involves making templates to ink and print, possibly with the addition of inked, textured, recycled materials or found objects, such as leaves and feathers that we can source in the stunning grounds of Hemingford Grey House.

Monotypes create a painterly image and are made by applying paint to a plastic plate and manipulating the ink before transferring the image to paper,

Artist’s quality inks/papers included. No drawing skills necessary as we can use simple shapes/ stencils. There will be plenty of inspiration and resources available the workshop. The art that you create to take home could be abstract or illustrative, funky or traditional, and expressive or graphic!

Sherry creates her artwork in her studio in Elsworth, surrounded by inspirational fields, flowers, trees, birds and her chickens! She tutors biology and has a passion for biodiversity.
