8 week oil painting course

This 8 week course is for complete beginners and for those who have had previous experience of underpainting with oils. The classes focus on learning to mix tonal colours, building layers from underpainting, brush and tools techniques, mark-making and composition analysis.

Participants are able to practice on still-life setups, work from photographs or create a painting from their imagination. This course offers something for everyone.

A basic range of materials will be provided for all participants to share. Each week I bring in my own personal paints and tools for everyone to use. During the course there will be an opportunity to purchase additional painting supports directly from the Rowan Humberstone.
