Artist's StatementMy love of Chinese brush painting began when I met an artist who had his own gallery in Singapore. His paintings and his skill inspired me into engaging him to provide private lessons starting in 1980. These twice per week lessons had been intensive and hard work. For the last ten years, I have painted numerous landscapes and places where I had visited e.g. Europe and different parts of UK. Chinese brush painting are painted on handmade rice paper, using specially made ink-stick and water colours from China/Japan. The brushes must be natural and applied using trained technique of the Chinese brush.
Three years ago, I had attended a Colour pencil workshop and found this style interesting because this is totally different from Chinese brush painting. I have to draw the outline and then using oil based colour pencil to complete the delivery.
