My 'Remades' series continues to explore and develop imagery that reduces wasted materials. Using my collection of existing printed papers with collage and thread, I aim to create a narrative on the fashion industries continual unecessary production of 'fast fashion' that ends up in land-fills.

'Assemblage....a work of art made by grouping found or unrelated objects'

This series of prints was inspired by memories of my mother's sewing room, and in particular her dressmaking skills. As an avid collector of all things textile, I've explored the textures of collected second-hand fabrics using the process of mono-printing, and collaged them together with old vintage dressmaking patterns. I've then embellished the prints further with cut paper, and Mother of Pearl buttons and embroidered them with thread.

'Living in a bubble' is a phrase synonymous with the Coronavirus pandemic. An invisible, devastating enemy caused a global shift in how we lived our lives. My 'Bubble Series' references and pays homage to war artists. I was inspired by their use of colour to impart the feeling of chaos, desolation and loss that they witnessed as war artists. My aim was to create re-imagined artworks that represent a 21st century viral war, which like previous wars before resulted in the tragic loss of millions of lives.
