Artist's StatementWorking primarily in paper collage combined with acrylic paint, I piece together the skies and landscapes of south Cambridgeshire, where I live. Most often, I hand-paint blank papers of varying textures, using them as my ‘palette’; shaping and forming them until a place and a feeling emerges. I overlay these collages with more traditional painting and drawing techniques to create works that are neither figurative nor purely abstract - but always trying to capture the beauty of the half-seen, half-remembered.
