Artist's StatementWild places and elemental landscapes are often the starting point for my work and I am particularly drawn to coastal scenes. I mostly find inspiration in local landscapes, Mediterranean visits and sailing trips. My choice of subject matter is often decided by my emotional response to the mood and above all the colours of a scene. The meeting of land, sea and sky has a mystical quality for me. The changing light and the ebb and flow of water means that the views are constantly altering and evolving.
As well as membership of Cambridge Open Studios, I am also a member of Cambridge Drawing Society and Saffron Walden Art Society. I was the winner of the Mayor's award at the Galleria Moderna Invitational Art Contest 2022. My work is in local galleries in the Cambridge area, in Addenbrookes Hospital permanent collection and in private collections in France, Germany, USA and Australia.
