Artist's StatementMy work explores the layers of being human. It navigates the landscape of our souls, of psychological and emotional states and how these states meet the world. Chaotic, colourful, gestural marks are tempered and tamed, disguised and concealed by the repetitive marks of the uppermost layer. I think of these graphic layers as clothes, blankets, shrouds - the textiles that we select to present how we wish to be seen by the world.
