Artist's Statement

Representational painting in oils has been my main inspiration, still life and landscape, capturing the elusive light effects of early morning, evening and dusk is a constant challenge. Recently I have been working more experimentally in mixed media (inks, pastels, watercolour, graphite etc) and collage.

Throughout life my interest in painting has been pursued by courses and workshops with members of the New English Art Club, at the Royal Academy Schools and Homerton Art Group. I first took part in Cambridge Open Studios in 2000, and have most recently taken part in 2015 with White House Arts. I have exhibited in many Cambridge exhibitions and, for the last 12 years, at Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London.

A recent holiday in Iceland has inspired me to start a series of paintings of that wonderful exciting country.
