Artist's StatementIn the process of transitioning to full time sculptor, I aim to design pieces that either defy function or are purely sculptural. I take my inspiration from what I see around me, be it shapes and textures in nature, or architectural elements and details. Throughout my work, I remain committed to working with minimal environmental impact, a value that has guided my making for a lifetime.
I currently work with wood, while remaining open to other materials. I am particularly drawn to the dialogue that emerges when contrasting materials are combined within a single piece.
Free from the constraints of commission, I can now allow myself to engage fully with an intuitive creative process and to explore form, material, and meaning on my own terms.
