Artist's StatementRachel Thompson lives and works in Cambridge UK and is currently studying MA Fine Art at Central St Martins. She is an alumni of CSM having completed a BA in Design for Performance, graduating in 2007. Rachel has worked extensively in arts education and currently works for leading UK arts education charity AccessArt.

Rachel’s work explores the themes and imagery of literature as well as the Pagan significance of standing stones, circles, and feminine strength. Rachel layers watercolour, inks, charcoal, and graphite to conjure semi abstract landscapes, figures and forms- with meditations on stillness, contemplation, and movement.

Rachel's works are result of process led drawing and painting, where materials are used experientially and organically to build and develop ideas and concepts.
