Artist's StatementI completed an Art Foundation Course at CCAT in Cambridge before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design. Following a career in animation including winning first prize at The Nimes film festival for the animated film “Surface”, which was also featured by the BBC in their Animation Now series, I returned to Cambridge where I joined Tom McPherson’s Cambridge Art Workshop and now I paint full time.
I exhibit through Cambridge Contemporary Art Gallery and have exhibited at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition. I have limited edition prints available at Gingerwhite.com
I have participated in Cambridge Open Studios since 2017 and this year I will be in my new studio on the Histon and Impington trail. I will have original framed oil on canvas paintings, limited edition prints, cards and coasters available.
I am a Sky and Seascape painter drawing inspiration from my travels to the scenic coastlines of the UK. I strive to convey a sense of tranquility along with a luminous light filled quality through use of colour and proportion. The vista and skies in my work all start from somewhere I’ve been, but the abstract nature captures something emotional rather than figurative, evoking the feeling of somewhere known and loved.
