Artist's StatementMy London grandparents homes were full of Asian artwork and traditional handicrafts. It was always an interesting visit. When I married we lived in Tehran where I visited many art museums & explored the wonderful country’s cultural history.

For Open Studios I have displayed some of my East Asian paintings. They are inspired through Peter Cavaciuti’s weekly East Asian painting class at Storey’s Field Centre. The style of painting creates a meditative approach and a joyful way to work. We paint on East Asian handmade paper, using black ink block, Japanese watercolours, mounting work on board, before framing.

I participated in the Song Lin Zhai 2023 & 2025 exhibition with three of my Asian art paintings and Chimera ceramic cats. Recently I have made a series of small ceramic figures based on some of the very old East Asian famous artworks.
