Artist's StatementMy subject is landscape and I work outside from observation, usually sitting on the ground which gives a different viewpoint to the scene. The paintings have fine flat surfaces where the brush-strokes are barely visible and the intensity is built from colour and tone.
I want my work to be arresting, uplifting and beautiful. I want the viewer to find the paintings accessible and to take time with the work, and then to return to see the paintings anew.
