Artist's StatementI have been designing and making jewellery for about 15 years since I attended an evening class and was immediately hooked. I work mostly in silver and like to make wearable pieces inspired by nature, with particular favourites being flowers, leaves and birds. I also like to make simple timeless classics based on geometrical shapes. I replicate natural textures using forging techniques and my rolling mill, where I have produced my own etched texture plates. A lot of my designs involve piercing or sawing out intricate shapes and precise soldering. I like to add interest to my work with accents of gold and copper and another area that I’m particularly focusing on at the moment is vitreous enamelling using a kiln. I’ve always enjoyed drawing and painting and this allows me to add colour to my work and is a marriage of art and jewellery making which I really enjoy.

I’ve taken part in Open Studios for many years and enjoy showing people around my studio and explaining how I’ve created my pieces. I am happy to take commissions and consider repairs.
