Artist's StatementI enjoy making chairs, settees and stools that give pleasure to their owners over many years of use.

Each piece is made from beautiful English hardwood. Some chairs I make follow the American Windsor style. With these chairs, splitting the wood with the grain and bending parts to shape ensures they're light to move but still very strong. Others I make are more contemporary in style, inspired by the Californian craftsman Sam Maloof.

Every chair is made to size, and has to be comfortable. I take great pleasure in seeing peoples reactions as they sit in a chair that really fits them.
