Artist's StatementMy influences are the natural world, which never ceases to attract me.
The landscapes I paint are acrylic with soft pastel on top, over a textured board. I either seek out dramatic scenery, knarled tree or similar subject - something that is different and attracts my attention.
My other technique is working with acrylic ink. This is very loose, letting the medium choose its own path. The inks call for dramatic shapes and the natural world provides these in abundance. The subject matter is either birds and animals, or distinctive flowers.
