Artist's StatementI trained at Glasgow school of art from 1994 to 1997 in the department of Illustration and graphics. The natural world and landscape has always been my greatest passion in art. For the last 25 years I have been working as an Art teacher in a local secondary school and raising my young son, always struggling to find the time to pursue my artistic goals. This year I have decided to bite the bullet and produce a body of work for Cambridge Open Studios. I like to experiment with many media’s and have certainly explored new media’s and ideas through my teaching of young people. My current work is very much illustration based and tends to be a mixture of animals and local flora and fauna. I will be working in watercolour and ink and also doing some printmaking. Lino cuts and relief printing.
