Artist's StatementA passion born over 25 years ago before a child raising hiatus has been rekindled and grown. Ceramics for me became a serious practice during the first covid lockdown. It gave me the time and space to fully immerse myself on a journey of self improvement and learning.
My practice is constantly evolving and I'm currently on a mission to throw bigger, joining vessels and seeing how I can create visual texture with techniques such as carving, resist, layering glazes and multiple firings. Colours and forms are currently influenced by travels to Japan.
Ceramics for me is therapy, it clams and focuses my mind, gives me the space to breathe and hopefully yields a product that brings joy to those who use or admire it. Piece are hand thrown, hand built, painted, glazed and marked with my potters stamp lel, a family nick name.
I sell through Cambridge Contemporary Craft, instagram and Open Studios. I currently have pieces exhibiting as part of Thrown Contemporary 22/23 www.throwncontempoary.co.uk
