Artist's StatementLaura Chaplin is a printmaker, artist and teacher of art. She spends the majority of her printmaking time working with a unique version of screen printing which allows her to work in a painterly style while still having the ability to reproduce her drawn imagery multiple times. Her subjects include anything from the natural or manmade world which she interprets into multi-layered compositions on cloth or paper. Her work is often in a muted palette of colours, can be impressionistic, transparent and are often described as ethereal.
