Artist's Statement

I am an artist who finds themselves continually drawn to nature. I like to take a traditional landscape setting and focus on enlarging a small area in order to produce large scale oil paintings. I enjoy capturing the vibrant colour, pattern and detail of the landscape and use my work to draw focus to these areas to allow us to appreciate every engagement we have with our natural environment.

My aim is to try to capture the energy, rhythm and power of the landscape and what better way to source my inspiration than by working with water and the sea. I am continually drawn to this subject matter which enables me to work in a variety of expressive ways.
