Artist's StatementTo create paintings I use traditional techniques by applying oil on canvas or panels, using light and colour to add an atmosphere that represents each scene from my own creative eye and perspective. I'm inspired by welsh masters who Turner learnt from and impressionism as well as passionate about the idea of each painting holding a significant and personal memory.
One of my paintings was chosen to be exhibited in the 45th North Wales Open Art Exhibition 2021. I exhibit annually with my village arts group and regularly take on commissioned works. Working full time for the NHS painting is my escape. My paintings usually have a deeper meaning and reflect my life experiences.
