Artist's StatementMy long standing concern is to use the colour I find in East Anglian landscape: in light, water, the seasons, the time of day and particularly in plants. My aim is to balance the visual with my sensation of a particular moment. The surface of the canvas, its proportion, is crucial to the form of each painting, as is the translucency of oil paint for the colour to express both my internal and external experience.
