Artist's StatementIsabelle is a stained glass artist and conservator based in central Cambridge. She is captivated by stained glass’s story-telling and dynamic interplay of light. Her work is often narrative-driven and focuses on expressive figural scenes, using a range of glass colours, textures and glass painting techniques to evoke the connectivity, essence, and emotion of subjects.

Isabelle’s journey began with Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, which nurtured and inspired her appreciation for ancient art, myth, and hands-on work. Combined with her passion for painting and drawing, she found the perfect fit of stained glass craft. She went on to earn an MA in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management from the University of York. Her dedication to craft and conservation has been recognised with awards, including from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and the Worshipful Company of Glaziers. She previously worked at The Cathedral Studios, Canterbury, and Reyntiens Glass Studio, London.
