Artist's StatementGeorgia Record's work has been heavily influenced by alternative arts including tattoo, music, fashion and film subcultures. These scenes have heavily influenced her style resulting in graphic work usually focussed on monochrome and high contrast lighting or colour palettes.

She has been working with oil paints for 15 years predominantly focusing on portraiture though has made forays into landscape and still life. In recent years she has started to work with biro pens, a habit that started from covering her school books with illustrations at school where she found biro to be a versatile medium. Her biro drawings create graphic portraits and illustrations that are textured and highly detailed.

Georgia's favourite subject matter has been and always will be people, the human condition and the human form. The characters Georgia is most drawn to capturing are those she's inspired by or those on the fringes of society, the renegades, the trail blazers, those who's style or output she finds engaging or simple people with an interesting story.
