Artist's StatementMy work reflects a deep connection with nature and the places I know well. I grew up in Cornwall and have lived in Spain. I work using a variety of materials, which include acryllics, oils, plaster sand, paper, inks and pastels. I also work wiht Still Life because of its capacity to produce and accommodate intimacy. The paintings demand a lot of time and many layers. I sometimes have to put them away and then bring them to light when they are ready to be completed. It often takes a viewer to illuminate me and to explain how the paintings move them and speak to them.
