Artist's StatementI have been inclined to draw as long as I can remember. I learnt printmaking as a teenager, visiting a local and well established artist, and continued learning printmaking at art school and through artist-led workshops. At the same time, I was designing for local theatre groups, so post degree, trained as a professional stage designer, touring UK and Europe, designing sets, costumes, lighting and publicity. I took my MA in the History and Context of Fine art and Theatre. I have taught fulltime in Higher, Secondary and Primary Education, drawing on my art and theatre background. My art work explores traditional media, including intaglio and relief printing, in conjunction with light-sensitive cyano print.
