Artist's StatementFernando Feijoo’s output has been likened to that of a contemporary William Hogarth with its satire, acute observation, scathing comments and dark humour. The work is about questioning and challenging; being shocked, but informed; being upset, and viewing things differently.
From global warming, deforestation and poverty, to greed, power and manipulation, Feijoo uses themes from diverse sources such as Dante’s Inferno, the deadly sins and science fiction to infuse his work.

Taking inspiration from the Expressionist artists and others who used their art to reflect on their troubled times such as Goya, Posada and Grosz, Feijoo explores his subjects using a wide range of techniques, principally etching & relief printing. Drawing forms an important part of the process with surreal and narrative themes appearing throughout the resulting series of prints and artist books.

Recent projects include The Future, Gods & Monsters, and The Inferno: the darkest depths of human nature depicted in the nine circles of hell.
Feijoo has a BA in Illustration from Kent Institute of Art & Design & an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from Winchester School of Art. He trained as a master printer at the Curwen Studio for several years before moving into art education.

He has exhibited work internationally and has won many prestigious prizes and awards, with work in many permanent collections including:
