Artist's StatementFor over 20 years, I have worked with clay, finding its versatility very rewarding. I handbuild my ceramic vessels from slabs of clay, shaping each piece with care and attention. The mixture of textures in my work creates a tactile experience whilst emphasizing the natural qualities of the material.
Currently, my pots are inspired by architectural features, where elements like openings, repeated patterns in bricks or leaded windows, or street plans influence the design. I aim to create vessels with a sculptural presence and which are visually engaging.
