Artist's StatementClare McEwan is an illustrator who combines collage, abstract painterly techniques, text and humour in her quirky paintings of animals. The main aim of her work is to connect with people by making them smile. She completed a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration and exhibited in the New Designers 2000 exhibition then graduated with an MA in Graphic Design by registered project from Nottingham Trent University. She is currently working on a series of animal paintings and designing eco-friendly cards. As well as squirreling away in her studio in Cambridgeshire, she has worked as a Fine Art, Graphic Communication and Photography Teacher since 2003 sharing her love for the subject with students aged between 11 and 19.
