Artist's StatementMy jewellery making started when my children were younger when I bought a kit to make a charm bracelet as a gift. That was it, I was hooked!!
My jewellery skills have now expanded and I love nothing more than playing in my workshop and now produce handmade jewellery using various methods such as casting, carving in wax, wire wrapping, crocheting wire, glass fusing, forging and of course good old fashioned metal smithing.
I primarily use sterling silver, often with hints of gold but occasionally make fine silver pieces from metal clay. Semi precious beads and stones feature heavily in my designs but I also love sea-glass.
Ive recently been dabbling with abstract acrylic art which is fun as the end result is always different. I have also produced some commission pieces which is always scary!
I have been a member of Open Studios since 2015 and taken part in the Summer Studios each year with fellow member Linda Bartlett. We are taking part again this year and I will be also showing some of my abstract acrylic flow paintings alongside our jewellery.
