Artist's StatementI was born and brought up in Ely, the cathedral city in the Fens where the striking landscape continues to influence my work.
Drawing, painting and making have always been part of my life and working as a teacher for many years has enabled me to share this love of art.
A sense of place is important to me and I hope this can be seen in my work as I observe outside, recording colour and light. I make stoneware pots large and small, which also describe place and memory for me.
I have an MA in children's book illustration from Cambridge School of Art and am often creating, I hope, atmospheric characters for possible stories.
A selection of my work can currently be seen at Haddenham Arts Centre and Ely Cathedral shop
