Artist's StatementOf necessity my subjects are within walking distance, recalling my former mentors' view that a painter should be able to find enough to paint close to his or her back door. The seasons change my pictures as they have always done and my constant use of gouache is a habit formed when painting plein air far and wide and bringing the works home dry. I continue to exhibit annually and to enjoy receiving guests during the weekends of July in my native village.
