Artist's StatementUsing the fleece from my wool only flock of rare breed sheep, I make needle felted paintings. Much of my work is made using the natural colours of the wool. Different breeds of sheep give me different textures and colour. I hand-dye the wool when I need a wider range enabling me to obtain the exact colours I like to use in my work. Although my background is in Fine Art, I am self taught in needle felting. This has led me to explore techniques and materials not conventionally associated with dry felting. My work is often very delicate.
My inspiration comes from the landscape, the nature within and the transient beauty of each season. Through this, I aim to take the viewer to a place of tranquility.
