Artist's StatementMy printmaking reflects my interest and love of gardens, plants and the countryside which began as a child growing up on a farm in South Cambs. I enjoy observing the structure and shapes occurring in the natural world.
I studied Art as my main course subject while at teacher training college. Renovating an old house, family life, teaching and making soft furnishings for clients took centre stage for many years. I discovered printmaking in 2010.
My printmaking continues to develop, I print at Stoneman Press and at home using a wonderful old book binding press and an etching press. I find the creativity of printmaking so exciting!
I enjoy screenprinting on fabric and I have a range of textiles using my designs; tea towels, aprons and shopping bags. I also have a range of greeting cards, correspondence cards and mugs.
In the last couple of years I have been amusing myself during Covid with upholstery, patchwork and quilting, pond making and gardening. At last I have returned to my printmaking.
