Artist's StatementWhether using silkscreen, collage or onglaze enamels, drawing is at the heart of what I do. It is the surface they are applied to that differs from bone china to paper. Primarily I am an illustrator and have done numerous commissions for books and magazines. I have exhibited nationally, both with fine art prints and illustrated ceramics. Bringing together my passion for drawing, designing and teaching is now brought together with my work on bone china. I taught Graphics and Illustration on the Art Foundation Course for 18 years until 2008 when I started a small creative business which I am running from my home and studio in Cottenham. Designing and decorating fine bone china with dynamic onglaze enamels I work either for commissions or making my own designs for sale. I am also holding classes, either here at my home, or in galleries and other venues for people of all ages, (so far from 5 to 87 years old) and creative abilities to work with me in this discipline. It is the most exciting and fun process with wonderful results. In my open studio I will have a wide selection of silkscreen prints for sale together with contemporary designed plates, bowls, mugs and dishes and will be demonstrating onglaze enamel techniques.
