Artist's StatementI’m a fine art printmaker living and working in Cambridge. I studied art history and printmaking at London University of the Arts and Anglia Ruskin University. I create prints using my own digital software, printed on archive quality inkjet printers – using methods which are further developed for each print edition.
My subjects include architecture, abstract and biological pattern, and portraiture.
I have been exploring the area of overlap between abstract and figurative. Abstract prints such as ‘Champeaux 1’, for example, which had their beginnings in architectural images. Or the human face, to which we as fellow-humans are so finely attuned – how a personality can refuse to disappear, even though its portrait hardens to granite – or the opposite, how it can all but vanish into randomness and space.
I’ve exhibited extensively in Britain and abroad, and have work in private and public collections including those of the Universities of Edinburgh, London and Cambridge, and the V&A.
