Artist's StatementI have been a professional potter for nearly forty years, exhibiting both in England and abroad. The pots begin on the wheel. Most of my stoneware is fired in a wood kiln as the effect of the naked flame on the clay gives the added exitement showing the path of the flame on the finished pots. The glazes I use all come from the wood ash of our trees,especially hazel and cherry.I also have high fired porcelain. I live and work in the Fens where the big skies and wide horizons inform my work.
