Artist's StatementI am a bodger making chairs out of the trees in my wood which are cut and worked in the green. Most of the chairs are made from Ash which grows tall and straight. Having split the trees I use a lathe to turn the wood before steam bending the legs. No machinery is involved at this point. The seats are either made from rush,wych elm bark or hardwood. All the chairs have a high professional finish using beeswax from my bees.
