Oil painting, photography, digital art, decorative fused glass and pendants, all inspired by my walks in the UK and my travels abroad. I find my passion for art, nature, and the creative process, totally engrossing and nothing makes me happier than being in the studio with a project on the go! My primary practice is Painting, but doing photography and working on digital images, has been very absorbing this year. I have been going out and photographing local scenes, then using the computer as a tool, to half create composite images. I have found the process very exciting, creative and adventurous too. I also explore ideas in glass, looking for new ways in creating interesting slumped shapes, combining colour and texture. These are sometimes left as flat abstract wall pieces or slumped into various sized bowls. I have enjoyed creating new multilayered fused glass pendants too, and each one is unique and individual. I get inspired in exploring relationships between form and texture, order and chaos, colour combinations, balance in relationships, but mostly by capturing light, which I feel is the one element that brings a piece of work to life. Since graduating from Central St, Martins, in Fine Art, Painting, I have exhibited in mixed and solo shows in Cyprus, London and galleries in and around Cambridge, Essex, and Suffolk. I have had solo exhibitions in Cyprus, in 2009, October 2013, May 2016, and mixed shows in 2017 and 2018. I have done art fairs in Ely and Bury St Edmunds, given talks about my work and I was interviewed on RIC television in 2009 and 2013 for a programme on Art and Culture. I have done Cambridge Open Studios since 1999 and have over the years, enjoyed and love interacting, meeting and talking with new and returning visitors each year. In 2018 and 2019 I have been running drawing workshops at the Arthur Rank Hospice which has been greatly rewarding, and hoping to start again in March 2023. Sharing my love of art and inspiring others to enjoy, and have fun with the creative process truly makes my day.
