Artist's StatementI am an artist based just outside Cambridge, working mainly in printmaking and traditional darkroom photography. My work is observational and is inspired by an interest in the urban and rural landscape, history, maps and the passage of time. Taking spaces that may often be overlooked, I focus on pattern, texture, surface and detail.
Current work includes monochrome and colour reduction linocuts. I enjoy working on the lino in a spontaneous way and many of the mark-making decisions are left to the cutting stage. the risk and uncertainty involved in cutting the lino and the excitement of the print revealing itself are what gives me a passion for this medium.
I have a BA in Visual Arts from Camberwell College of Arts and have taken part in Cambridge Open Studios for the past 15 years.
